My Problems with Psych Wards: An Autistic Woman's Thoughts.

Be honest, when you think of a Mental Hospital? What comes to mind? Schizophrenics? Delusional people? People with Mental Illness? Well, whatever you think, I have some problems with Psych Wards today, but there aren't that many I have. However, in this post, I will discuss what they are. So, without further ado, let's get into it.

Problem 1: The Faculty, Staff, and the System of the Psych Ward

From what I have seen from some videos on Instagram or some other platform with little videos like reels, it seems that sometime the staff and/or faculty tend to be dangerously dismissive towards the patients who come in for help. One reel I have seen, it was made by a woman who had worked in either a psych ward or a mental hospital, where she worked with a patient as a nurse, who would scream for an unknown reason. Wanting to help, she went over to what I assumed maybe the head nurse, to be told that the patient was only screaming for attention, when in reality, she was screaming, because she was having an allergic reaction to her new medication she had. Just knowing that alone, why would a nurse and definitely, someone working with mental health patients who need help, do such a thing? Now, not every staff member is like that, but from my fair share of hearing and seeing mental health staff in psych wards, they seemed to be so cold, rude, and not someone I could trust with my mental health, let alone a nurse with my life.

Problem 2: The Politics on Psychology

The mental health industry definitely, based on how society is these days, a little more political than any industry than any country, in my opinion. Now, this is different from actual science that helps people with mental illness, disorders, etc. What I am talking about is pushing their opinions of politics to get their favored outcome. Two examples of this, one, Radical Leftists who work in the industry, insisting the narrative that if a little girl likes the color blue, then all of sudden they have "gender dysphoria" or they are "trans", when she more than likely a tomboy or something. While two, Radical Right people who also work in this industry who insist that the narrative that those who are not married or a parent are sad, because are well...Marriage-Obsessed ideology like how the Radical Left push their Trans-Obsessed ideology. Both are not good at all. Yet, in psych wards, this stuff is pushed enough to take a child away from good parents that haven't done anything wrong and treat them so wrongly, because of ideologies like this. And it's not okay.

My suggestions as solutions:

1. My suggestion to number one is to make a qualification to work as a nurse in a psych ward or any other position similar to that they have to have experience working in a pharmacy and/or have education in that department. And if a person like that already has a track record of those kind of mistakes and is in mental health industry as a nurse or something, must be fired immediately.

2. My suggestion to number two is similar like number one, if any person, who pushes their political opinions or plays along with something illegal or unconstitutional or harmful, etc., no matter of political party, should be fired immediately and face the consequences of their actions.

And that's end! If you enjoyed this short post, comment, follow, and share for more! Anyways, thank you so much for reading and I'll see you all in the next post, bye!

The Comorbidity of Autism and having a Mental Illness from an Autistic Woman

Mental Health, the controversial topic when it comes to many different situations like trauma, stress, school shootings, learning about psychology and so much more. Although, many people may not know what it's actually like to experience a mental illness, whether it's Anxiety, Depression, etc. So, what does this have to do with me, you ask? Well, like the title, I have a mental illness!          What Mental Illness do I have?    My mental illness is Anxiety. I have an anxiety disorder that causes me to worry to no end to the point, where my life is nearly affected every day.      What Anxiety Disorder do you have?     I have an anxiety disorder called General Anxiety Disorder. It's a disorder, where, according to the Mayo Clinic, there's lot of constant, uncontrollable worrying. This worrying and panic, leads to a lot of symptoms that the Mayo Clinic lists on their website, these symptoms include...

Autism and Modern Eugenics

Eugenics, an ugly disaster for any minority when it is directed to erasure a certain thing in a group of people that is unliked by the majority or another group of people opposite of those without the "undesirable" trait. This concept has happened for many years in the past, like in the 19th and 20th century, but what if I were to tell you that it's still happening today, but in more ways than one? Especially to Autistic people?      Now, I bet you are wondering what I mean by this. Well, in order to show you, we must know what eugenics is and why it is done.      So, what is Eugenics?       Eugenics is the theoretical practice that aims to create "the perfect human" through medical and, as of now, social practices that are done with the intentions to "improve humanity" through genetic quality. This can be done through practices such as conversion therapy, surgeries, unnecessary medicalization, forced sterilization, e...

The Truth on Suicide and the Autism community

Suicide? What is that word? Well, in my definition, it's an unhealthy coping mechanism that a person does when they can no longer bare the trauma or pain that they are enduring or have to heal from. However, what most don't know is that it affects a lot of marginalized groups and communities around us. For example, the Autism community.        Who are the Autism community?    We are a community filled with people that all share different experiences in living with a disability called Autism.        What are the statistics on Autism and being vulnerable to suicide or suicide ideation?    According to Psychology today, the rate for Autistic people having anything to do with suicide is higher in than their peers, who are neurotypical. In fact, from this website, it says that it was revealed that 10.7% of Autistic people, including those without a formal diagnosis, but displayed traits, died to suicide. With 41%...
