My Problems with Psych Wards: An Autistic Woman's Thoughts.

Be honest, when you think of a Mental Hospital? What comes to mind? Schizophrenics? Delusional people? People with Mental Illness? Well, whatever you think, I have some problems with Psych Wards today, but there aren't that many I have. However, in this post, I will discuss what they are. So, without further ado, let's get into it.   Problem 1 : The Faculty, Staff, and the System of the Psych Ward   From what I have seen from some videos on Instagram or some other platform with little videos like reels, it seems that sometime the staff and/or faculty tend to be dangerously dismissive towards the patients who come in for help. One reel I have seen, it was made by a woman who had worked in either a psych ward or a mental hospital, where she worked with a patient as a nurse, who would scream for an unknown reason. Wanting to help, she went over to what I assumed maybe the head nurse, to be told that the patient was only screaming for attention, when in ...

Spongebob is Autistic? An Autistic woman's thoughts.

Cue Frenchie! Ah...SpongeBob, a beloved character since the late nineties, when Stephen Hillenburg created what would be the most unique and beloved franchise of all time, SpongeBob SquarePants . Though, as of recent, the news has covered that he's Autistic, according to Tom Kenny, his voice actor, and the news program, People News.  Well, here are my thoughts on that. First off, who is SpongeBob and where does he come from?    I am glad you asked. SpongeBob is a beloved showed created on May 1st, 1999, by a man named Stephen Hillenburg, who was first a marine biologist, then grew a love for children's entertainment. So, together he created a lovely little show called SpongeBob SquarePants, that centered around a man child sea sponge, who goes to work at the Krusty Krab and also goes to school at Mrs. Puff's boating school, where he learns to drive, but fails horribly. All while living next to his next-door neighbors, Squidward Tentacles and P...

3 phrases about Disability phrases I don't like as an Autistic Woman!

Phrases, what are they? Words to give you wisdom, comfort, maybe even self-discipline as well. Sometimes they are okay and sometimes they are hard to hear. However, what if I were to tell you that even though some are well meant, it doesn't really give comes across as comforting or accepting as you might think? If you never thought about it, it's okay, because in this post, I will be sharing some phrases regarding disabilities, that I do not like as a Disabled woman myself with Autism Spectrum Disorder.     Now, before we get started, I would like to note that this is just my opinion that is not to be taken as sacred word. I am not God and should not be treated as such. Your opinion is just as valuable as mine, Disabled or not. You are more than welcome to use these phrases, just know that I do not like these phrases as much, okay? Alright, now without further ado, here are the phrases that I do not like as an Autistic woman myself.   ...

The Cruel Exploitation of Autistic people

Exploitation has grown in the four years, whether it's political baiting to pit people as a stereotype that is false, videos filmed about children without their consent in vlogs about families, the exploitation healthy children to groom them in transition at an early age in the name of "LGBT", despite many LGBT people against it, any sexual contact towards children behind the scenes of television shows, etc. However, what if I were to tell you that this same thing, while it happens a lot, seems to happen a lot towards Autistic children, even if it isn't in the media or news at all. Here are some cases:    Before we get into this, we ask the questions...  What is exploitation?  By definition, this can be any abuse show on camera or behind the scenes all in the name for views, money, fame, etc. This can be sexual, emotional, physical, or just forcing someone to be in the camera, despite their feelings or choice to be on camera at all. Some ex...

Mental Health Phrases I will not be using as a Future Therapist.

In this day and age, many people have heard infamous phrases used in the Mental Health industry, mostly from therapy and unfortunately, Tik Tok, where people can spread misinformation and claim it to be true, something I mentioned about in my last post, especially towards people with mental illness(es) and those with trauma. However, throughout my process of discovery of leaving the Left and discovering my true political party, after realizing the truth about the Democratic party. I have been learning the actual truth about healing, especially as a woman, whose interested in becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for her non-profit, I have learned a lot about certain phrases and how they aren't as helpful as anyone thinks they are and are not true psychology. One that I won't use based on my past. So, without further ado, here are three mental phrases that I will not be using as a future therapist.  Your feelings are valid .   Now, there are two reason...
